Dr. Shelley Simpson
Dr. Shelley Simpson is a native of Kenton, TN. She graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science in 2015. During her time at UTM, she was a Therapy Technician at Cane Creek Rehabilitation where she performed rehabilitation exercises and functional movements with patients. This hands-on care inspired her to pursue a career in Chiropractic with a focus on mobility. Dr. Shelley attended Logan College of Chiropractic and was awarded the Service Award for being actively involved as the Student Government President, Mentor and Peer Tutor for Anatomy, Physiology, and Neuroanatomy.
Dr. Shelley is trained in manual chiropractic techniques but also gentle treatments such as Activator, Flexion/Distraction and Logan Basic Technique. Dr. Shelley is also trained in SFMA (selective functional movement assessment). This is a movement-based diagnostic system that is designed to find the underlying cause of pain by breaking down dysfunctional movement patterns. This is a technique commonly used with athletes of all ages.
Dr. Shelley’s true passion is in pediatric chiropractic care. While at Logan University, Dr. Shelley was one of only fifty students that had the opportunity to intern with Dr. Muriel Perillat, a nationally recognized Pediatric Chiropractor for over 41 years. Through this mentorship, Dr. Shelley learned advanced pediatric treatment techniques including cranial therapies, manual techniques and reflex assessment. Dr. Shelley’s advanced training in pediatric care allows her to help children with colic, reflux, ear infections and sleep issues through natural treatments.
